Este filme marcou-me imenso em miúda, tinha uns 12 anos quando o vi pela primeira vez e já na altura adorei, apesar de ter visto a versão original, sem legendas... no antanto vi-o vezes sem conta, pois a amiga que o tinha (e foi com ela que vi as muitas vezes) era fã do dito filme e acabei por saber partes de cor :P Um obrigada à Rosa (a tal amiga) que foi durante muitos anos vizinha dos meus avós no Restelo e que fez parte da minha infância, tal como este filme. Quem não o viu devia ver pois é um clássico... confesso que tem partes muito lamechas e é um pouco longo, principalmente para quem tem aversão a musicais... Passa-se em Nova Iorque nos anos 50 e é uma história de amor entre uma porto-riquenha e um americano, os dois pertencentes a gangues rivais, os Sharks (imigrantes de Puerto Rico) e os Sharks (Nova-Iorquinos).  Judia was my mare. We grew up together, I had her for 20 years and her death in 2016 was a pivotal point in my life for several reasons. I had forgotten about this Blog and for some reason felt I wanted a place to keep and share all the short ramblings I wrote in the past, in Facebook and other places (and potentially some stuff I never published). I am not a writer. But sometimes, words need to come out of me and I find myself putting them onto paper. So this will be my little corner for saving those words that I somehow strung together. Most of it is in Portuguese so I will put a translated version as well (in case someone has nothing better to do or accidentally finds themselves here!). In any case, my intention is to practice writing in English and putting everything that my brain vomits into this platform.
